Capernwray Day out - 24th July

The days diving at Capernwray was primarily for Julie and Dave’s open water practical assessments.

We loaded up the battle bus and headed on up the motorway to our favourite quarry. John Carter and Mark Dyer were there to Instruct and Assess Julie Dyer and Dave Franks on their final two dives of their Open water diver course, Janine Dyer, Steve Hancock and Carole-Ann and Keith Nutton also came for a day out.

The first dive, Keith and Steve went for a look around the airplane while the rest of us headed for the training area for Julie and Dave to perform their skills. They both completed the required sections of the OWD well, as practiced many times in the pool.

Second dive was a more relaxing experience for the trainees we headed off to the training area again and then dropped over the cliff edge to the airplane for a look around, then over to the cave, helicopter and oil rig.
We ascended on a DSMB so that when we go to the Farne Islands in a couple of weeks they are prepared.

Overall a good day out. The weather was OK, overcast but mostly dry the water was relatively warm and clear.
Thanks to Janine and Carole-Ann for making the bacon sandwiches and cups of tea.
Well done to Julie and Dave.

Having fun in the plane

Hmm, will I stay dry today?  May just go for a sleep!!!
